By accessing or using ReRoute, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use ReRoute.

2. What ReRoute Is

ReRoute is a circular intelligence application that helps you find the best next life for unwanted items. It provides:

AI-powered item identification from photos
Personalized reroute recommendations (donate, repair, recycle, resell, repurpose)
Nearby facility discovery for reuse, repair, donation, and recycling
Environmental impact tracking
DIY and reuse ideas
Sustainability articles and resources

3. User Accounts

You can create an account using your email and password, or sign in with Google. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the security of your account credentials
All activity that occurs under your account
Notifying us of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Guest Usage

You can use ReRoute without creating an account. As a guest, you can:

Scan and identify items
Receive reroute recommendations
Browse nearby facilities
Explore DIY ideas and sustainability resources

Guest activity is stored locally on your device and is not synced across devices. Creating an account allows your activity to persist and sync across sessions.

5. AI-Generated Recommendations

⚠️ ReRoute's AI recommendations are informational estimates, not guarantees. Always use your own judgment when deciding how to handle an item.

Item identification is performed by AI models and may not always be accurate
Reroute recommendations are based on general knowledge and may not account for your specific circumstances
Environmental impact figures are estimates based on published conversion factors and should not be treated as precise measurements
You are solely responsible for verifying that a recommended action is appropriate for your situation

6. Environmental Impact Estimates

ReRoute calculates estimated environmental impact (CO₂ avoided, water saved, waste diverted) using conversion factors from published sources including WRAP, Defra, and EPA. These figures are:

Estimates, not precise measurements
Based on general averages for item categories
Not a guarantee of actual environmental benefit

7. Nearby Facility Information

ReRoute displays nearby reuse, repair, donation, and recycling facilities. This information:

Is sourced from OpenStreetMap, Overpass API, and curated databases
May not always be current or complete
Should be verified before visiting — hours, acceptance policies, and availability may change
Does not constitute an endorsement of any facility

8. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use ReRoute only for lawful purposes
Not attempt to circumvent security features
Not upload harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content
Not use ReRoute to harass, harm, or defraud others
Comply with all applicable laws when handling, donating, recycling, or disposing of items

9. Intellectual Property

ReRoute, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by the ReRoute team. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of ReRoute without permission.

DIY ideas and sustainability articles linked from ReRoute belong to their respective creators.

10. Third-Party Services

ReRoute integrates with third-party services (Supabase, Google, NVIDIA, OpenStreetMap, Google Maps). These services have their own terms and privacy policies. ReRoute is not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

11. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us.

12. Disclaimer

ReRoute is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that ReRoute will be error-free, uninterrupted, or always available.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReRoute shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of ReRoute, including but not limited to:

Decisions made based on AI recommendations
Issues with third-party facilities
Inaccuracies in environmental impact estimates
Loss of data or account information

14. Changes to the Service

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of ReRoute at any time without prior notice.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
